I'd like all my folders to open in "list" mode view. I'm constantly
having to change it. Is there a way to make all of my folders open in
the "list" mode?

Hello,

After setting your view to list view, go to the Tools menu, Folder Options
item, View tab and click "Apply to All folders" button.

Open a folder, Right click, Point to View
Select a View, Click Tools > Folder Options
View tab, click "Apply to all folders"

See the link on my sig. for more info.

Good Luck, Ayush.

I have a similar desire but the settings will not hold. (sp1)

You may update to SP2 or try this "Folder fix" from Kelly. pick Line 2,
Left column in link below.

Thanks for that, but strangely it doesn't work.
I also installed sp2 after that, and still the settings will not stay.
There are one or two other problems with this rather cluttered
installation so I'm going to take the cowards way out and do a quick OS
re-installation. (Data is no problem, most is on other partitions.)

Thanks for the tip, and it is an interesting site for future reference.

Cheers

Isn't "quick OS re-installation an oxymoron?
