In Windows 2000 I used to get a login popup when I accessed files on another
computer, in XP Pro I don't. This seems less secure, I'd be more comfortable
with the old login process, does anyone know how I can have that
functionality in XP Pro?

Thanks

Do you want a login popup when you access a Windows XP Pro computer
from another computer? If so, disable simple file sharing on the XP
Pro computer. That will make it work just like Windows 2000:

1. Click Start | My Computer | Tools | Folder Options | View.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the list of advanced settings.
3. Un-check Use Simple File Sharing (Recommended).
4. Click OK.
