Hello
How to set "Archive items in this folder using the default settings" for all
folders and subfolders at once? I have too many folders and subfolders to
set for every folder manually. Version is 2002 sp3.

Go to Tools\Options\Other\Autoarchive

There is a button titled "Apply these settings to all folders now"
Warning!!! This will make ALL folders have the same archive settings, so if
you have different subfolders set-up to go to a different archive file or
have any sub-folder set to do anything different, you must manually go to
that folder and reset it if this is what you want.

Alternately, you can go to File\Archive and manually select folders and
subfolders to archive. WHY CAN'T THIS INTERFACE BE SET UP FOR
AUTOARCHIVE???!!!

Right click on any folder and choose Properties, then AutoArchive tab to
control the settings per folder.

i was wrong. The "Apply these settings to all folders now" does not change
subfolder autoarchive settings. Subfolders marked "Do not archive" will stay
that way. I suppose this button will simply update the default settings to
those folders and subfolders which are already (individually and manually)
set to use the default settings.

There are other posts found here that are trying to accomplish the same
goal. Apparently, there is no way (in 2003 SP3 anyway) to globally control
autoarchive settings for folders and subfolders. (Having a default
autoarchive setting is a minor step up from office 2000, though.) The manual
File\archive (as I noted previously) is the closest it can get.

My Inbox has too many folders to do this for every folder separately and
manually.

The set the properties on Tools, options, other, autoarchive, choosing
settings that will be appropriate for the vast majority of folders. Change
the other folders indiudally.
