Since I upgrade to Windows XP, I am not able to receive emails automatically
in Outlook even though I am constantly connected via broadband. Now every
time I have to click on send/receive to receive emails. Previously I did not
have such a problem with Windows 98.

which version of Outlook?
automated send/receive is controlled via Send ? Receive groups in Outlook
2002 and 2003.

Click Tools>Options>Mail Setup>Send/Receive and check the "Schedule an
automatic send/receive every" box, putting "10" in the minutes field.
(Intervals less that ten minutes are ill-advised.) This will also cause
Outlook to perform a send/receive upon startup.
