Trying to turn emails into follow-up tasks. Looks like Outlook (2000)
automatically and without providing option saves the emails as
appointments instead.

Alternatively, how can we turn an appointment into a task?

Thanks.

You can drag the message to the tasks folder to create a separate task item.

Thank you for the offer. Upgraded to 2003 from 2000 and now I can see
a task folder, separate from the calendar folder.

THen you should be all set to drag messages to that folder.
