How to remove redundant Meta Tags

FP 2002 seems to generate these Meta Tags automatically:

<meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 5.0">
<meta name="ProgId" content="FrontPage.Editor.Document">

Do they serve any useful purpose?

If not, is there any way to stop FP2002 generating these tags?

Thanks. Does this inhibit just these two tags or does it inhibit ALL tags?
Obviously it is not a good idea to have all tags inhibited.
