How to Remove Item from File->New in Explorer?

I just installed a program which added a file to Explorer's File->New
submenu. It starts with the letter "F," which interferes with the keyboard
shortcut I use to create new folders (alt-f-w-f). Is there a way to remove
this item? I found an entry in the registry which seems to correspond to
the item I want to remove, but before I delete it, I'd like to know if
there's an official/safe way to remove the item (short of uninstalling the
program that created it).

Thanks.

John,

Download TweakUI:
TweakUI v2.00 for Windows XP/XP MCE [564 KB].
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

TweakUI v2.10 for Windows XP SP1/XP MCE/2003 [147 KB].
http://download.microsoft.com/downl...a6-b352-839afb2a2679/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Open TweakUI (it's in Start -> Programs -> Powertoys for Windows XP). Goto Templates tab in TweakUI and remove the shellnew entries there.

Manual Procedure:
Without using TweakUI, you may need to delete the registry entries manually.

HKCR\.xxx\ShellNew
(xxx is the file type)

and

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Discardable\PostSetup\ShellNew
NOTE: Before editing the registry, always backup the appropriate registry key.
