Hi there I have a couple of old programs in Vista. I did not remove them when
performing the upgrade to vista home premium. Whenever i try to uninstall
them I get The installation will be terminated. The software is intended for
Windows 98SE, ME 200 or above versions only.

Any ideas? The program name is powerdirector ...

Thanks in advance

If you can't remove them using the Control Panel method and the
application doesn't have or it's uninstall program doesn't work, you
can always look for it in program files, (your root drive, typically
C) then just delete that program's folder...be careful you only delete
the right folder, then clean up the Registry and get rid of any
shortcuts. If you have't already you may need to show hidden files in
your C drive.

Problem with that method is that programs of that vintage often installed
files in system folders as well. These things can cause conflicts if left
behind and be very difficult to diagnose. Unless they are causing problems,
I would probably just leave those programs alone.

I don't know much about Vista, but can you run the program in compatability
mode?? If so, then maybe, just maybe you can then un-install it.
