When someone changes their email address, that old address always pops up in
the "To:" pull down bar along with all other addressees with a like
beginning. Is there a way to permanently remove those old email addresses.
It's not a big deal, but it is annoying.

As you start to type the address, and you see old addresses, use the arrow
keys to select them and then hit the delete key on the keyboard.

Pressing the delete key should do it.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, bswann asked:

| But how do you get rid of them permanently? I don't want them to
| appear ever again.
