ECLiPSE 2002

In Automatic Updates I had earlier selected ..."download updates but
let me select when to install them".

SP2 downloaded and II now have the downloaded SP2 update in my system
tray and an annoying pop up reminder to install it each time I boot my
PC.

I have decided to defer the installation until all the unknowns are
identified and I have taken all the necessary preinstallation steps.

Can someone tell me how to remove the download from my PC?

Thanks,

Frank

That will be about 2034 and even then they will have missed a few. :)

Hi,

Turn off Automatic Updates, then delete the downloaded file from
\Windows\SoftwareDistribution

You will be waiting for a very long time.

Frank;
Follow the directions Rick suggests.
Or if you simply wish to delay SP-2 until April 2005, use this tool:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/maintain/sp2aumng.mspx

What unknowns are you referring?
You need to research potential hardware and software issues with your
computer while waiting since the SP-2 available today is identical to
the SP-2 available in a year.
If you do nothing but wait, you are wasting your time.

When ready follow the Service Pack Installation Checklist:
