How to remove an operating system?

For testing one of my other problems, I installed XP Home in a Dual-Boot /
Multi-Boot system. The OS I'd like to keep is a XP Professional. Now I would
like to remove that.

How do i do this, because this doesn't work by just removing the hard disk.

Also, if I want to enter the Repair Console, and I select the os I'd like to
"repair", it asks me for the Administrator password. I never set an
admin-password, for either os's.
Simply pressing enter is perceived as a wrong answer by windows.

It would help me a lot. thanks in advance.

Your post is a little unclear. The statements
- "The OS I'd like to keep is a XP Professional."
- "Now I would like to remove that."
appear contradictory.

Please state exactly what OS you have on which drive and in which
partition, then say what you wish to keep and what to you wish to remove.

Well,

the original OS on this PC is XP Professional. (C-drive)

For testing, I installed XP Home Ed on the second drive (D-drive)

Both drives only have the one partition.

I'd like to remove the XP Home Edition. And would like to not have the
"choose the operating system you would like to work in"-screen anymore.

Removing through the repair console doesn't work, because I can't log on. It
keeps asking for an administrator password. I never set a password during the
installation process. Nor did I later on.
Pressing ENTER doesn't help. And after three "wrong" guesses, I have to
restart the computer.

hope it's anything clearer now.

=====
So your WinXP Home installation is on "drive D:" It is occupying drive
space which you can delete at some point.

Control Panel -> Open System -> click the Advanced Tab,
then click on "Settings" under Startup and Recovery.

In the System Startup section (at top) click the "Edit" button to open
boot.ini in notepad.
Remove the line under [operating systems] that loads WinXP Home and Close
Saving Changes.

When you desire to remove the files on drive D:
Boot WinXP Pro, open Windows Explorer and delete system folders and files on
D drive (or reformat if there is nothing you wish to save on the drive).
