Had a problem, tried to repair it but nothing would work. So I reinstalled
a new version of XP professional, in a differnet folder (WinXP) and all the
associated applications.

Each time I start the system, it has two options to start up XP - the old
one and the new one.

The old one does not work!

How do I get rid of the old version, without distroying anything?

Thanks for your help.

Hi

See if the following helps:

"I have two installations of XP on the same partition, how do I remove the one I don't need?"

Delete the folder where the old version of windows is (i.e. C:Windows)
Now go to Start > Run > msconfig
boot.ini tab
click on 'Check all paths.'

or edit the boot.ini yourself:

Good luck

Hi

The Registry needn't be used in this instance.

| I'll give that a try
