How to reference a single field in an ADO recordset? I need to compare the
date in the current record and then grab it in the next record. But I am
not sure how to do this in MC Access.

Here's an example using the Orders table from the Northwind sample database
....

Public Sub CompareDates()

Dim rstOrder As ADODB.Recordset
Dim dtmOrderDate As Date
Dim intResult As Integer

Set rstOrder = New ADODB.Recordset
With rstOrder
.ActiveConnection = CurrentProject.Connection
.Open "SELECT * FROM Orders ORDER BY OrderDate"
Do Until .EOF
If Not IsEmpty(dtmOrderDate) Then
Debug.Print DateDiff("d", dtmOrderDate,
..Fields("OrderDate"))
End If
dtmOrderDate = .Fields("OrderDate")
.MoveNext
Loop
.Close
End With

End Sub
