I tried to format my 2nd HD (partition G: ) into FAT32,
but software (Swissknife or something) formated instead
my D: Win2K partition by mistake (instead of G: )!!!
It was FULL format (not quick), and it happened under
that same Win2K (wich restarted and died). After that nothing have been
written
on that partition. Is there a way to reclaim that data (sector by
sector or something) or

they are gone for good? And can I do it myself, cos
I don't have means here in eastern Europe to send HD to DataRecovery
firms in US or Canada.

Hi:

I think your chances of recovery data are slim. You will find software able
to recover data using a sector by sector scan, but I supposee that some
data, will be lost.

I tried this some some time ago http://www.runtime.org/index.html, but it
was for a deleted file of a hard disk drive . It was succesful thanks god.

Let us know how the case develops.

I recommend that you use EASEUS DataRecoveryWizard to recover your data.

The software provides very useful functions for data recovery:
DeleteRecovery, FormatRecovery, AdvancedRecovery, RawRecovery.

This program is an efficient disk recovery software providing
you a complete answer to data loss.

You can download the demo version of EASEUS DataRecoveryWizard.
http://www.easeus.com/download.htm

Run the program and you can select the any recovery mode
"DeletedRecovery", "FormatRecovery" and "AdvancedRecovery".

I suppose this is self-evident but the easiest and most reliable
way to recover data is from your backup medium. A 2.5" disk
in an external USB case is a low-cost but highly effective
backup device.

You have a fair chances of recovering your data and partition.
Use Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Software for FAT & NTFS.
It is a file & partition recovery utility that helps you in recovering
your all important data lost after accidental format, virus problems,
software malfunction, file/directory deletion, or even a sabotage.
This data recovery software will also help you in recovering your
partition.
This data recovery utility has an interactive tree structure to view ,
select (tag) and recover files and directories to a safe location.
Download the demo from: http://www.stellarinfo.com/partition-recovery.htm
Run the software on different hard drive making your infected hard
drive as slave and start the scan process.
After scanning is complete you will be able to see your lost data. If
your are satisfied by the result to save your data get the full
version.

Best of Luck.
