How to Query the Database

Hi,
I am new to Excel 2007, I just analysing the following things

1. How to query the database Tables by passing the parameter from Excel
without using Macro.

Eg:
Select COl1 from Table1 Where Col1 = Excel Parameter


Please guide me on this
