How to prevent automatic network connection?

When I logon my computer is set to automatically connect to the internet.
Also it connects even if I disconnent it manaully.
How do I set the connection to be manaul?

What connection are you using?
 
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Taps:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced.
Click on Connections Tab and make sure this Radio button is selected:
(*) Never dial up a connection

Click Apply then click [OK]
If you are using another connection like a router or a modem that use a web
interface page you can log into and see the settings there and you can check
dial on demand option.
