With Outlook 2003, SP-1

I want to change the .ost file that my profile/account points to
(different from change the path). Here's why.

To begin with, I have 2 different profiles:
1. [POP] with a pop3 account and
2. [MSE] with an MS Exchange account [mse_acct].
[MSE] is associated with outlook.ost.
All was well, but cumbersome, switching back and forth and all.

I've created a new profile, beginning with a copy of [POP] and added the
MS Exchange account [mse_acct]. I managed to get the account resolved,
and I now want the profile to operate entirely in offline mode, with only
occasional manual synching of the MSE account folders Calendar, Contact,
Notes, and Tasks,

PROBLEM: OL creates a new .ost file, outlook1.ost, and I can't get it to
point back to outlook.ost.

Is there some barrier to pointing two different profiles to the same
account and to the same OST file?

THANKS

Interesting thread. Like others, it helps for relocating an OST file. The
internally referenced MSKB article is also helpful, for transferring an OST
to a new machine. But I'm trying to point two different profiles to the
same OST, though -- something which my research suggests may in fact be
impossible. Hmmmmmm.
