But more specifically how to play a particular sound eg Joanna Lumley saying
You've got post or somesuch file on receipt of new OE message?
Thanks

Windows Mail (not OE) uses the system sound for new mail.
So if you want to change it, go to Start - Control Panel - Sound - Sounds
In the scroll box, go to New Mail Notification
in the Sounds box, go to where your substitute wav file is, test it, and
click Apply.

That's excellent...TVM

Hi John,

You can change the Computer Sound Scheme event "New Mail Notification"
to the audio file that you have instead. This will show you how.

In Windows Mail, make sure that you have this setting set so you it
will play for you:

1. Click Tools, then Options
2. Under General tab
A) Check "Play sound when new messages arrive"
3. Click OK

Hey John

Is that the one with Saffy saying "Where is all this mail coming from?".

If so, where did you get it? - was looking last year but never found it
again.

No...but I could do with that one as well...if anyone knows from where?
Cheers.
