How to Password Protect a File Folder??

Does anyone know if it possible to password protect
individual file folders, for example the "My Pictures"
folder, etc.?

I can't seem to figure out how to do it, but I remember
seeing a friend's computer that had some of the folders
locked. Any ideas?
