Hello,

My friend is staying over at my place and we're trying to network our two
notebooks.

I have an average system a Dell 510m 512mb ram, integrated 64mb graphics
card and about 30G of HD, I have the standard Intel wireless card and a
network card. I'm running Xp home.

However, my friend who has a brand new Sony VAIO S28 1.6G computer with
512mb ram + the same stuff and more.

He wanted to network our two computers to try to read the data off my
machine- via network card or wireless. How do you do that though ? is that a
website that tells you how to do it?

Cheers,

Wilde

There are a few different things you can try. Are you wanting to just hook
them both up to each other, or allow them both to access the internet?
If you are just wanting to hook them up together you can simply use a
crossover cable (RJ-45) to hook them up directly to the Ethernet ports.
But if you want to allow them both to access the internet you need to get a
router. There are plenty of articles describing them thoroughly. Have a look
here.
