how to move printed text down the page a few cms?

I am using Vista Home Basic.
I want to be able to move the text , once it is on the screen, up or down
the page, in both emails and the MS Word program--OpenOffice too
 
Froggie, in case you aren't familiar with Word's lingo, what JoAnn
means is to right-click the paragraph and choose Paragraph from the
popup menu, and in the dialog, change the Space Before setting to the
amount of space you want between that paragraph and the one before it.

I was OK this morning. But somebody set off the fire alarm this
afternoon, and we all had to go outside for a drenching. :-b
