How to move iTunes Music Library.xlm to an external drive?

I am working with the 4.5 Win XP version of Apple iTunes and have
successfully moved all mp3 files to my external HDD. Now I also want
to move all other files (like iTunes Music Library.xlm and iTunes
Music Library.itl) to a folder on the external disk so that all data
files are in this location. The program should be kept on the PC's
main drive. Any idea how to do that?

I keep my AAC files in separate directory from my MP3 files. The iTunes folder
is in the MP3 directory, even though I have it set to a different location in
the preferences. Have you tried Apple support for iTunes for Windows?
