Very frustrated with this issue and think its an XP issue
over our software issue. We are using a program called
EMXS that is an add-on to autocad. It has a dos editor
that goes with it where we do most of our drawing edits.
The trouble though is that one of our laptops will never
go to full screen in the dos mode and will actually chop
the top and bottom off (not fit to window). It's bad
enough we only get half screen, but we also can't read
vital information it cuts off.

It is a PIV 1.6ghz with a 15.1 screen. I would assume
the answer is in right clicking the command prompt in
start menu, but the catch is we also have another laptop
that is about the same specs, and works find full
screen. I tried matching all the settings exactly on the
2 laptops, but still no avail.

We have also found that it will freeze with the half
window as well, something that won't happen on the other
one.

Any suggestions to fix it would be greatly appreciated -
here or by email.

TIA
Dave

Open a Command Prompt (Dos Window), Right Click on
the upper left corner icon. Choose Properties, then define
your Window Size and Placement (Layout, Colors), etc.
When closing, choose "Apply to Shortcut". This will change
settings for the Dos Prompt. You can also do this while your
applications Dos Window is open.

I will look into that, but I have a feeling its not
directly related to those settings. We can open up the
command prompt and it comes in full screen, but our
application is really a built in dos 'program' that has
its own hotkeys/icons and no c prompt etc. I would say it
was the programs problem, but the fact that it works
perfect on the other laptop (both XP) tells me that
doesn't seem to be the case.

Will try that next week for the sake of trying though.
