Hi,

I need to delete from the Active Directory a Domain controller (Windows
2000) that was dead.(hardware failure)

It dead 2 months ago and when I runn repladmin or AD Sites and services I
see it in the list of DCs

I want to do this prior an Windows 2003 upgrade

Thanks in advance

1. Verify that the DC did not hold any FSMO roles and that if it was a GC
another GC exists. (If it did hold FSMO roles you will have to "Seize" them
using the ntdsutil command.

2. Perform a metadata cleanup and all related steps as documented in: 216498
