Hi All,

Does anyone know of an easy way to manually turn on my screen saver when I
know I am going to leave my computer for a while? Thanks for all the relies
in advance!

If you're worried about people getting into your PC then, I would just hold
down the WINDOWS KEY and hit L (WINDOWS + L). This locks a PC in Windows XP
or later. Other than that, I don't know why you'd want to do anything like
that. I normally turn off my monitor & lock my PC when I leave.

What I once did is copy a shortcut to the screen saver in the Quick
Launch toolbar (together with the Magnifier, the Show/Hide Desktop, the
Performance, and a shortcut to a code file to toggle between 2 themes).

Eustace:

That is pretty much what Wizmo does only it is easier for those of us who
are "scriptically dyslexic". LOL Wizmo resides on the desktop and performs
the requestd action immediately instead of taking you to the place where that
action can be invoked. In addition, it allows the inclusion of a "NOW
DAMMIT" switch for suppressing confirmation prompts. Also, Steve Gibson has
some two dozen "stock" wizmo suggestion on that site.

it's easy to make a shortcut to a SPECIFIC screen saver, just set the
target to the .SCR file, as in:

F:\WINDOWS\system32\Cyclone.scr

then put the shortcut somewhere where you can get at it easily, like the
desktop or the quicklaunch bar. If you put it in the startmenu somewhere
you can then assign a hot-key to it, that's the most effective I think.

note it will launch THAT SPECIFIC screen saver, not whichever one you've
selected w/ the desktop properties.

I added a "screensaver" button to the "Microsoft Office" toolbar that I
enabled on my desktop.

Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions! I knew a few of you would
know!!
