how to log out of a remote shared folder

Sometimes when connecting to a shared folder on a different machine, I'd
like to reconnect as a different user. How do I do that without logging
out of the desktop machine I am sitting at?

In addition, how do I just log out of the remote machine I have logged
into?

Try using [ net use * /d ] to disconnect current connections. Then try [ net
use \\servername\sharename /u:username ] to reconnect at which time you
should be prompted for password. Net help use will bring up the help menu
for that command. --- Steve

Probably this is another 'blind spot' in the system. Using command lines in year 2004 should not be the answer

Sorry, I do not know the answer either! Tried twice to get the answer on this forum, in vain.

Probably this is another 'blind spot' in the system. Using command lines in year 2004 should not be the answer!

Sorry for the delay, but now I am at the actual machine again

The confusing part is that when I right-click the 'My computer' the mentioned share is not listed there! This is probably because it is NOT mapped to any letter (because I did not wat to map it). Therefore I see the share+its subfolders under 'My Network Places /Entire Network/Microsoft Windows Network/Workgroup_NAME' but cannot find the way to disconnect the share without reebooting.
