Hi all,

I would like to send an excel file to 2 person.
I want the first one to be able to open the 4 sheets and the second person
to be able to open ONLY the first 2 sheets (therefore I don't want him to see
the 2 'banned' sheets).
Using a password is ok with me, but just can't find the way to do that (I
can hide, I can lock...but I cannot LOCK the opening itself of the sheet)

Thank you very much in advance to anyone able to help with that.

Best regards

Protect the workbook under Tools>Protection>Protect Workbook for Structure and
Windows. Add a password.

After you have hidden the two sheets, of course.

Send this to the 2 users and give user1 the password to unprotect the workbook.

Note: Excel's internal security is very weak and passwords easily cracked.

If you wish to make sure that user2 cannot see the two sheets, don't include
those sheets in the file you send.

Dear Gord,

first of all thank you very much for your post.

The thing is that I have an Excel file with 4 sheets in it.
I want to send it to 2 person one after the other to work on the very same
file on the same PC. I want the first want to be able to workl on the 4
sheets of the file and the second to be able to work and see only the two
first sheets of the very same file in the same PC.

How can this be done?

Thank you so much for your help

You want them to work on the file at the same time?

You would need to share the workbook and this would create problems with
protection.

If they will not work on the file at the same time, just follow my previous
instructions.
