Use Sound Recorder (in All Programs - Accessories - Entertainment, and
in it open Windows\media\The Microsoft Sound.wav
(for the standard one - or any other that takes your fancy). You can
then play to the point where the sound actually starts/stops, and use
the Edit - delete before or after to remove the lead/trail silence, and
save it. You can then use Edit - Insert to insert more copies from that
file until you get the result you want, save it again, and select that
as the sound to use in Control Panel - Sounds and audio.
