Check the FAQ pages of the major virus scanners, e.g.
Trend, NAV, McAfee. They all have detailed recipes for
this sort of thing.

How to remove a Trojan, Virus, Worm, or other Malware

UPDATE your antivirus software and run a full system scan.

UPDATE whatever anti-spyware applications that you have and run a full
system scan with each one.

You might want to start in Safe Mode to run your antivirus and anti-spyware
software.

Running a full system antivirus scan or anti-spyware scan in Safe Mode can
be a good idea. Some viruses and other malware like to conceal themselves
in areas Windows protects while using them. Safe mode will prevent those
applications access and therefore unprotect the viruses or other malware
allowing for easier removal.

If you literally mean, by "clean install" that you installed XP by booting
from the CD and following the delete/recreate partitions, format, etc., then
your CD contains that virus, further indicating that the CD you used is NOT
a legitimate copy of windows.
No virus can live thru a complete reinstall of windows so the only
possibility then is your source CD.

If that's not what you meant, then I see some have already given you
excellent advice; I won't repeat that.
