First, the product ID I provided is from the workstation I am currently using to enter this report... My other workstation is the one with the problem... And I am unable to figure out how to get the product ID w/out having the workstation working. Sorry.
Anyway, I have two workstations, both with XP Pro upgrade. One of these suffered a HD crash. I am unable to find any OEM disk that came with the computer and would have had the OS prior OS on it (I purchased the machines as a re-build). I am unable to re-install XP Pro on the new disk because there is no pre-existing OS and I do not have the CD that would have been used by the manufacturer.
The system was properly running and activited prior to the disk crash.
How can I install XP Pro Upgrade when I cannot find the install CD's for the original OS. Is there a way for you to track the legitimacy of the install because of the prior activition? Or, is there a way to track the legitimacy of the install by looking at prior OS registrations and verifying that the proper upgrade paths existed?
