i have to submit math problems online and can't figure out how to type an
exponant (the littlte number) next to the big one. help please?

There are two ways to do it:
First type your number and then select the power section of the number ,then
firmat\font and check superscript.
Second if you need to write more complex formulas use equation editor-insert
\field\Eq and click on equation editor.

If you're posting a Word document, you can use superscript font
formatting (Format > Font > Superscript, or shortcut Ctrl+Shift+=).

In Word or any other Windows program, if all you need are superscript
2 and 3, you can use the character ² by holding Alt and typing 0178 on
the number pad (with NumLock turned on) and the character ³ by typing
Alt+0179.
