How to import from a dvd-r

I recorded home video onto a dvd-r via a Panasonic E30. Now I want to import the video into WMM2, re-edit and burn back to another dvd. How (what files) do I import from the authored dvd into WMM2. Or do I have to play and re-capture the video?
