I have been trying to setup my MSN account with outlook
and I have succeeded on that part, but I would like to be
advised when I have new mail. is there a sound property
outlook uses and how can I enable this to work with my MSN
account? or can I?.

Thanks
Mike

Control Panel - sounds - "new mail notification" -- you can then browse to
any sound you want to use...

I am unsure what version of Outlook you are using, so try this.

Start | Settings | Control Panel |Sounds

(or Start | Control Panel | Sounds & Audio Devices in XP).

Click on the "Sounds" tab. Select "New Mail Notification". Browse to
the .wav file you want and apply it.

That should do the trick - the directions may not be specifically
accurate as to your OS, but the SOunds setting in the Control Panel
should give you the ability to change that and many other sounds.

Good luck - hope this helps! :)

Something else that occurred to me, not sure if you checked this or
not. From Outlook, select Tools, Options, the Preferences tab, Email
Options buttons, ADvanced Email Options, and check off the "Play a
Sound" item under "When new items arrive". Hopefully that works for
you - sorry I didn't think of that the 1st time I posted - and
hopefully you have XP as I believe these steps will be specific to
that version of Outlook.

Hope this helps, good luck! :)
