How to get rid of all hardware profiles in xp

My laptop has a default hardware profile in xp. How do I remove that
hardware profile? The delte button is greyed out because it's the
current profile. I do not want any hardware profiles period. Anyway to
have windows remove/uninstall hardware profiles? Can't seem to figure
it out.

I believe you have to have at least one profile.
 
You can not remove the "last" profile. You must have one profile in order for
XP to load. Do not remove your "default" profile.
