How to get just the number of mails received on a day?

Inorder to control deletion of mails from a shared mail box, we want to put
in place a control wherein I have a count of mails received on a particular
day.

You want to do this from Microsoft Access with a macro? Why can't you do
this from your email client with VBA or a rule or somesuch?
