When I got my PC it had Windows Millennium. I took it and had a Philips
CD-R/RW (burner) installed.When I upgraded to XP my software didn't work. (
Easy CD Creator 4 ) I went to there support group & they said I could buy new
software but there is inbuilt burning ability with WinXP. Where, how, what to
do? Do I need to install the cd from Philips?

I don't use Windows Media Player, but have you looked at it, or read the
Help section to see if the burning code is part of Windows MP now, and
that may be all you need.

You can burn data CDs natively with Windows XP Explorer - just look it
up in Help (off the Start Menu). WMP will burn Audio CDs but it has
limitations - 2 second gaps between tracks, no CD-Text etc.

Thanks, Mike... I learned something too.
