My computer (one year old) has never had a problem with
random reboots until the last couple of weeks. It now
happens a few times daily, and each time I have a look in
the event viewer, but see a different error message each
time.
Is there another source of info I'm missing?

I think I may have found the source! I reformat and do a
fresh installation more than I should. I have just
realized there's roughly a half dozen corrupt files on
the store bought CD for XP Pro. They are all within i386,
in the 'D' area (they are all within athe same section).
What do I do?

Hello,

Yes, I've experinced that kindda problems before, And
from what I've noticed many people experiencing that also
but with many different couse...Well, I found out mine
coused by the BIOS, Used the older version and it work
just fine, A friend of mine also experiencing restarting
problem with his PC..and solved by changing the RAM stick.

There are no corrupt files on a legal copy of Windows.

Microsoft would be grateful, I'm sure, if you would tell them the name and
address of a store selling illegal copies of their software.

I think, that given time and frequent use, there will be
corrupt files on any and every CD manufactured. The myth
that CD's will last forever has not been told in many
years.
