How to find number of seeks?

I'm concerned about my hard disk. It sounds like it is doing a lot of
seeking when there are no programs executing...except background programs
(virus/spy/erc.)

How can I determine the number of seeks/reads my hard disk is going through
in a set period of time? Is there a dynamic way to see this or is there a
counter of some sort?

Thanks in advance.

Wow!!! Thanks very much, Gordon!

Now, I know that it's SpySweeper that keeps performing IRP_ x options and
FASTIO_x options... EVERY 0.110 second! Now, it seems like this is
unnecessary wear and tear on my C: drive. Won't this repeated, fast drive
read/write wear the disk out sooner?

Thanks again, Gordon. Great reference!!
