Hi,

I have IP Address which is pinging on
the Network, this IP was old DHCP server.
now this server is no more on network
and not physically connected on the network.
I have already resetted all my network switches,
did tracert,did nslookup,did nbtstat and
still it pings on the network.
Does any one knows how can i find which is
this host? and what utility & downloadable ver.
Any help on this is really Appreciated.

Have you tried ping -a?

I tried this, but says some unix host but doesn't give me
any MAC or any other information.
I can get detailed info of other machines on the network.
Also this IP Address is clashing to some other server,as
the moment i removed the network cable from that server,
the ping stops, but the removed network cable machine
has different IP Address, different MAC and also
i changed to other switch port on the network.
Only thing is i suspect there are some entries
in either WINS, DNS Databse causing this problem.

But i am not sure,Any help in this will be appreciated
