I have multiple monitors and every time I startup windows I have to check
"Extend my Windows desktop to .." to span my desktop over the two monitors.

Is there a way to get windows to remember the setting ??

(same problem with both ATI and nVidia gfx cards)

Sincerely
SK

For what it's worth (probably not much),
I use multiple monitors and have never had
this problem, assuming I shut down Windows
normally and start up in the same identity.

If I had to guess, I would think that the problem
would more likely be a glitch in Windows than
in the video cards/drivers, especially since you
have tried two different cards. It would be nice
if you had a second machine on which you could
try the same monitors and video cards...

Just happened to think -- there is a possibility
that something is loading on start-up that is
turning off the spanning feature. If you use a task
bar extender or other multi-monitor utility, you
might try disabling it from starting up and see what
happens.
