Hi,

I have a Dell dimension 2400 at work with a 40 gig drive. I'd like to
expand it to 80 or more.

Is there a way I can copy my existing C drive to it and then make it my new
C drive ?

Thanks, Jen

New drives normally come with software to do this. If yours doesn't, there
are several third-party utilities available that will. Norton Ghost is on
such program.

Use the copy utility that comes with most retail drives. If one isn't
included go to the drive manufacturer's web site and download the copy
utility. Follow the directions exactly. It involves installing the new
drive as a slave drive in the system, copying the drive, then removing
the old drive and installing the new drive as the Master. For the first
boot make sure only the new drive is present. Then after it boots up ok
you can turn it off and install the old drive as a slave drive, delete
the contents and use it for storage.
