How to embed and view video clips

I need to email a presentation that contains video clips. We were asked to
embed all pictures, not use links. We would like to play it safe and do the
same for these video clips.

My understanding:
If I use "insert, movie from file"...that creates a link and ppt will look
for the file on the presentation computer, when the file is still located on
the computer used to compose the ppt. If I use "insert, object, from
file..." that embeds the file in the presentation and I can play it on any pc.
Is this accurate?

When embedding I get a warning message "some files may contain virus..." and
Windows Media player activates to play the clip. Is there any way I can
disable the warning message and also have the clip play in only a frame
contained on the slide, without Media Player opening with all its buttons and
controls?

Thanks.

Simply put, there is no way to embed a video file in PowerPoint. (Doesn't
matter what media player you use.) All video files are linked.

With that said, you can ensure better linking by copying the file to the
same folder you have saved the presentation to BEFORE inserting it in the
presentation. Then simply move all the contents of the folder at the same
time.

Put your video file(s) in the same folder as the presentation. Then open
PowerPoint and delete the videos and then reinsert them (Insert > Movies and
Sound > Movie from File). This will ensure that the links are "relative" and
point to the same location as the presentation, wherever that might be. Now
email the presentation and the video files and ask the recipient to put them in
a folder together and play from there.
