I need to edit the header portion of a document. When I go to the VIEW
drop-down menu, the HEADER AND FOOTER option (as well as a few others
options) are a light gray color and will not allow me to click them. Any
thoughts on how I may edit this header?

If the commands in the menu are dimmed it indicates that the document is
protected & the dimmed commands aren't available. Take a look in the Tools
menu to see if "Unprotect Document" is active. If password protection has
been used, however, you won't be able to turn the protection off unless you
have the password.

The contents are also gray within the document. Unfortunately, nothing
happens when I double-click on it.

Thanks, that did it.
