How to edit a "message" box

I have a few cells that contain drop down boxes and a "message" box. The
"message" box appears when you scroll or click in the cell. The "message" box
contains instructions on what do in the cell and was created by another user.
The "message" box is not an inserted comment...I don't know what the correct
name is or how to update it. Any help on the name or how to update this
"message" box would be greatly appreciated.

Try selecting the cell, then use Data / Validation... and look at the "Input message" tab

Or it could be a cell comment.
