There is no standalone Windows Validation Tool.
You don't need it if you have no internet access.
The tool utilizes an ActiveX control that connects
to a Microsoft Server to perform a validation check.
Without internet access, it won't work.
Validation tool is only required if you are trying to download updates.
If you have a system that is already validated, you can download the
programs/updates and save them on USB to use on other system.
Similarly, if you really want the validation tool then save it on a
system instead of running it.
Yes it is just an ActiveX which is in C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files.
Go there in command prompt. Then you willl see LegitCheckControl.inf and
you will find LegitCheckControl.dll in C:\Windows\system32.
You take the inf and the dll over to the machines that do not have the
Validation "tool" Control in them and you put them both in an empty folder.
Then you right-click the inf and choose install. Now you have it. Trouble
is without Internet Access this is really meaningless.
well the problem is that if you want to install new microsoft defender
(antispyware earlier) you need to validate your windows. and we used to put
that software on the systems before sending it to a customer. we are seling
3000 systems a month so connecting every system to the internet and
validating them is not an option.
any other ideas.
