I am having enormous problems getting Outlook XP to work on my PC. It
works fine on my Laptop. I need to do a complete uninstall and also
clean out whatever is in my registry that is keepng my systems from
allowing Outlook to work. How can I do that. I want to keep all my
folders, of course.

Thanks,

Don

Did you ever have Outlook 2002 installed on your PC? What type of license
do you have for it? Did it come with a PDA? Part of Office XP? Is it OEM
(Came pre-installed on your laptop?)

Milly,

I saw on Expert Exchange that someone asked the same question. They
said change your profile in the registry, and it worked. The only
problem is, I put my backup PST file and it showed up as a separate
folder. How can I get my Contacts to import contacts from this
folder? When I check import, it says I must reload the software for
that function, but I had already asked for that function, so that
doesn't work. My software is Office XP .

Since the folder appears in the Folder List, open that Contacts, select
everything in it (CTRL-A) and copy them to your existing Contacts.
Alternatively, make your backup the delivery location and start using it as
the primary PST.

It says that I have to update the software to handle the import/export
function, but I can't figure out how to do that. I load the software
CD and it shows I have all the functions loaded.
