Can someone tell me how to re-install Outlook 2000 without it importing all
of my settings automatically; my settings as they are will not remember my
password and I'm hoping it's something I erroneously did upon set-up (or
something).
PLEASE advise as to how to do this or preferably how to get Outlook to
remember my password..
Thank you,
Randy

HI Randy,
one solution could be
http://www.andreas-roeder.net/english support/pasw_set_save.htm

Thank you so much Andreas...now if you'll please elaborate for a person that
knows just enough to be dangerous:
Does "Mark this key SECURITY | PERMISSIONS | ADVANCED" mean I right click
"Protected Storage System Provider" and choose new/key and then name it
security and then make 2 folders (keys) below that named permissions and
advanced"?
Thanks again Andreas,

Randy

Hi Randy,
NOPE,
MARK the Protected Storage System Provider Key
In the Menubar, there is a Button called "SECURITY" please press
this"Button"
After that, there will open a new option Button called "Permission" please
press this "Button"
After this, a new Tab will Open. Permission (Access Control) for Proteced
Storage System Provider. In this Tab you have to press the Advanced Button.
Dont create new keys. You have to delete the subKey starts with "S" in
Protected Storage System Provider Key.
But before you could delete it, you have to set the permission to delete it.
Hope this help!

First of all thank you very much Andreas it worked!
Hopefully I won't wear out your patience but now I get this error:
The TCP/IP connection was terminated by the server.(Account pop, smtp
server"smtp.crystalclearnm.com"Error number : 0X800ccc0f).
Any thoughts?
Thanks again,
Randy

One thing that can cause this is scanning incoming mail with an anti-virus
or -spam product. See http://www.google.com/search?q=0X800ccc0f for a bunch
of other things to examine.
