How to discontinue XP Pro install?

I began a reinstallation of XP Pro on a tablet PC before
realizing that it would have been better to use the
manufacturer's restore CD's (my install is looking for an
SP1 CD, which I don't have). The problem is that even
though the bios is set to boot first from CD, the system
is bypassing the tablet PC System CD and is continuing to
boot to the hard drive and back into the current
installation routine. Is there a way to discontinue this
installation so that I can start over from CD?

Thanks.

Nick,

See the reinstallation information provided by your TabletPC OEM.
You have to initiate a particular key at boot up or some other process they
will have documented for you.
If you require further support you should contact the OEM.

I am having a simmilar issue. I want to discontinue the
install of XP home. I am repairing a friends computer
and do not have access to their windows XP cd key. I
started the repair process with my windows XP cd. I need
to abort the setup process. Please advise. I have
searched Microsoft Knowledge base and have sifted through
the newsgroup here.

I already looked for any documentation on this as you had
suggested already. I could not find any information.

I will do that for sure. However, I have used the
manufacturer's CD's (it's Acer) in the past with no
problem. The issue here seems more about how to STOP

I will check Acer's product information for sure. The
issue here is discontinuing the current Windows XP Pro
install. Is there any way to do that?

Thanks.

Mike;
It may not be possible.
It is usually a bad idea to discontinue any type of set-up except
where there is a provision to stop set-up.
You need the key to finish the job properly.
