Hi All;
I have unchecked the box that says require Ctrl-Alt-Del but when I boot up
XP Pro still asks for username and password.

How to fix. Thanks

Hi Ferg
The require Ctrl-Alt-Del setting does not refer to automatic logon. If you
want your machine to automatically logon go to Start > Run and type Control
userpasswords2
Then uncheck 'users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer' in the user accounts window. Click apply and you will then be
asked to provide the user and password you wish to automatically logon with.

Hope that helps

Mark,
Thanks for the reply.
I do not get that option - 'users must enter a user name and password to use
this computer'

It does not show up when I run the Control userpasswords2 command.

What's heppening

Download tweakuiXP from the ms powertoys site .. that'll do autologon,
and a lot of other useful stuff besides. Failing that:
start, run, control userpasswords2

(group.google.com 'windows XP automatic logon')
