Hi , when I surf the net and move my cursor onto and over a link it pops up
a box with the full writing of whatever and is annoying me because I dont
like it, its the same when I move the sursor over any box at the bottom in
the taskbar how do I disable this?

Thanks
GK

Try this:

To show pop-up descriptions for folder and desktop items

1.. Open Folder Options in Control Panel.
a.. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
b.. Double-click Folder Options.
2.. On the View tab, select the Show pop-up description for folder and
desktop items check box.
Let us know if that works.

Ok I tried that but I still get the box popup I forgot to say its a yellow
background with black boarders, what else can I do?

Thanks
GK

It's called a "balloon tip". For the taskbar it's easy to turn off you can
use TweakUI from MS:

Have you got any URLs for examples of sites that do this? It could be that
they're using the "alt" tag on the links, in which case it's a "balloon tip"
again, otherwise it might be a javascript popup in which case it's harder to
stop without breaking other functionality on those sites.
